I think Miranda's post about Phantom Tollbooth was really interesting. I liked he amount of detail she put in all of her paragraphs. I haven't read The Phantom Tollbooth, but the post makes me really want to read it now. I also like how she didn't just summarize the book for her post, she kind of added what she liked throughout the post, which I thought was really smart.
Miranda mentioned how in the book, Milo kind of realizes he doesn't need to be on a different planet to have an exciting life. He can make his life exciting anywhere. In a weird way, this makes me think of the movie Sharkboy and Lava girl a little bit. Because in the end, the main character Max realizes that his dreams can come true on Earth too, in his own life, and not just on some fictional planet. I think it's cool that the post allows me to make connections to something else outside of the book.
I've read some of her posts before, but this one really seems to stand out a little more to me. I'm not exactly sure why, it might be because I can relate to the main character ( feeling really bored, and wanting to go far away) a lot. It might also be because of the way at the end when she talked about the author's craft, and the choices the author made.
Something I think I could start doing in my blog that Miranda did is try to figure out the overall lesson or moral of the book, and the end of my post as a sort of conclusion. I don't every really do this, but I think I should because it kind of ties everything together, and is a good ending. I thought the post was really engaging overall.
Miranda's post.
